India captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday broke another record and became the fastest to score 2000 runs in T20 Internationals. Kohli reached the mark in his 56th innings in the first T20I against England at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Only three other cricketers have achieved the feat so far. Before Kohli, New Zealand’s Martin Guptill (2271 runs) and Brendon McCullum (2140 runs) and Pakistan's Shoaib Malik (2039 runs) had reached the mark.

While Guptill reached the 2000-mark in 66 innings, McCullum did it in 68 innings. Virat Kohli outdid them by setting the record in 56 innings.

While Virat Kohli could’ve achieved the feat in the two T20Is against Ireland, he missed the chance as he was dismissed for 0 and 9 respectively.
