Soon following his success, Gill marked his name as the young batsman who broke former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir's record, who had also scored a double century for India's Board President XI's team against Zimbabweans in 2002, at the age of 20 years and 124 days.
As per India Today reports, Gill, who is 19-years-old became the youngest Indian to score a double century in first-class cricket in just 334 days.
Gill, was duck out in the first innings of the Test but he was back in action to remain unbeaten for 250-ball with 204.
Gill managed to score just 9 runs in 2 innings during his ODI debut against New Zealand.
