"I thought of committing Suicide many times!" Cricketer Mohd Shami’s Shocking Revelation about his Worst days in life!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIndia speedster Mohammed Shami made a shocking revelation that he thought of committing suicide thrice when he was dealing with personal issues a few years ago, which forced his family to look after him.
He said his family members were scared that he “might jump” from their apartment, from 24th floot.
He is one of the India’s best bowlers. He opened up on his personal and professional life during an Instagram chat with Rohit Sharma who is his teammate and the vice- captain of limited overs squad.
Though he is a key player today, he was struggling to focus on his cricket back when he had to battle these personal issues.
“I think if my family had not supported me back then I would have lost my cricket. I thought of committing suicide three times during that period due to severe stress and personal problems,” he said on Saturday.
He also added to it saying, “I was not thinking about cricket at all. We were living on the 24th floor. They (family) were scared I might jump from the balcony. My brother support me a lot. My 2-3 friends used to stay with me for 24 hours.”
According to Times of India's report, his wife, Hasin Jahan, lodged a complaint with the police and accused him of domestic violence in March 2018. He was booked under relevant sections and the BCCI withheld his central contracts for a while.
He also spoke about his time at the rehab and the stressful times he faced after he suffered an accident.
He however ended on a positive note by appreciating his family for the efforts they took to support him. “Then my family explained that every problem has a solution no matter how big the problem. My brother supported me a lot.”
