Hetmyer keeps KKR alive in the competition !!!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsRCB after winning the toss in their final game of the season decided to field first.
Saha and Guptill for SRH off to a very good start as they combined for a 46 runs partnership in 4.3 overs. Manish Pandey who came in after Saha's wicket was not able to make a contribution this time, but Kane Williamson stepped up as he was determined to make sure the middle order does not collapse once again. As Guptill and Vijay Shankar played useful cameos scoring 30 and 27 respectively, Kane Williamson was scoring at a steady rate at the other end. He was able to shift gears in the final over as SRH got 28 of it and SRH got to 175. Kane Williamson ended up with an unbeaten 70 from 43 balls.
RCB in return did not start well as they lost their top 3 players for just 20 runs. Shimron Hetmyer who was much talked about before the season had started after not being selected for a few games came back and made it count. Hetmyer along with Gurkeerat Singh combined for a brilliant 144 runs partnership of just 89 balls. Hetmyer was brilliant from the outset as he ended up with 75 from just 47 balls and Gurkeerat who was playing the supporting role pushed on in the end and got to 65 from 48 balls. Although they both got out at the end, they managed to win with 4 balls to spare.
This result will make the MI vs KKR match interesting. If MI win the game then SRH will go through and if KKR wins, they SRH will get knocked out and KKR will qualify.
