Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe first T20I match between India and Sri Lanka which was to take place on Sunday (January 5) in Guwahati was called off without a ball being bowled due to wet pitch.
Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who is currently working with the official broadcasters of the Twenty20 International series, took to his social media handle and shared a video of the stadium in Guwahati.
In the video, Harbhajan Singh can be seen dancing and entertaining the crowd to the song “Tenu suit suit kar da”. Another former all-rounder Irfan Pathan is also seen in the video. Harbhajan Singh captioned his video saying, "10/10 numbers to Guwahati crowd last night despite of no game."
According to Hindustan Times report, despite rain the cricket fans stayed back at Barsapara Stadium till the very end. They also sang "Vande Mataram" in unison which was a complete treat to the eyes and ears.
Team India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat but soon after the toss the rain delayed the match.
The second game between India and Sri Lanka will be in Indore on January 7 while the third and final T20I of the series will be held in Pune on Friday.
