"Go and Speak to Him...!" Worried Legendary Cricketers Tell the Selectors!!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe committee will select the members of the team flying to West Indies to play three ODI and T20 and two Test matches in the month of August.
The national selectors, lead by Prasad, are having a tough time trying to figure out whom to include and exclude following their form and how they fit with the format.
The decision on whether MS Dhoni is staying or not is on the table and taking a call on that is on their shoulders.
“You need to know who exactly are the players who fit into your Test pool, ODI pool and T20 pool. Track their performance, identify bench strength and create options. It’s also important to keep the think-tank in the loop and seek their suggestions about the road ahead,” said Dilip Vengsarkar, chief selector on Tuesday to Times Of India.
Kiran More, former cricketer and chief selector feels that decisions should be made keeping future in mind and give back-up players chances to prove themselves.
“However, you need to be careful and not create insecurity among players. When it comes to someone like Dhoni, you go and speak to him about his plans. You respect his decision and also convey to him what you feel is the way ahead for the team," More said.
Dhoni is yet to make any announcement on his retirement and he has mentioned that he is expected to retire by people.
