Former Delhi Daredevils player Bodi handed 5 years jail
Home > News Shots > Sports newsGulam Bodi, Indian-born former South African cricketer, who played 2 ODIs and 1 T20 international match, was handed 5 years imprisonment on Friday after pleading guilty to 8 charges of corruption.
Bodi started his first class cricket with Lions and had a great show after 2007. He was taken in contract by Delhi Daredevils in the year 2011.
In 2016, it was found that he was involved in match fixing in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge. The charges were proved and he was banned for 20 years by Cricket South Africa (CSA).
CSA said that their plans were foiled. He handed himself over to the police in 2018 and was sentenced by a commercial crimes court in Pretoria. He will reportedly seek a bail, reports Sport Star.
