In the second semi-final of the FIFA World Cup on Wednesday, Croatia defeated England 2-1 after extra time to reach FIFA World Cup final for the first time in history. England’s World Cup dreams were shattered when Mario Mandzukic scored in the 109th minute to send Croatia to their first-ever World Cup final.
England had a brilliant start with Kieran Trippier’s goal on free a free kick in the first five minutes of the match and dominated the first half. However, Croatia took control of the second half and Ivan Perisic earned the equaliser goal for his team.
Later, in the extra time, Mario Mandzukic, with a badly damaged knee, ensured Croatia’s entry into final with a goal in the 109th minute. Croatia will face 1998 champions France in the summit clash on Sunday at 8.30 pm (IST).
