India vs England test: Rare honour for British team

Today's test against India marks England's 1,000 test, thereby making it the first cricketing nation to achieve the feat. 

England has been playing since 1877 and has to its credit 357 wins, 297 losses and 345 draws among the 999 Tests that they have played.

England is closely followed by Australia, who have played 812 Test matches.
