'Thala' Dhoni at his 'Vintage' Best!!! Finishes with 6, 6, and a massive 6 !!!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsAfter the Rajasthan Royals won the toss, they decided to field first since they were not sure about the pitch and expected dew to set in later.
The Rajasthan Royals got off to a great start with the ball, getting 3 wickets within the first 5 overs. As CSK were struggling, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina got together and started to rebuild the innings with a steady partnership of 61 runs. Trying to push the run rate, Suresh Raina fell for 36 runs of 32 balls in the 14th over. Before the start of the 16th over, MS Dhoni changed his bat from SS to BAS Vintage and used it for a little bit, which is something he had done in the game against Delhi as well. Dhoni and Bravo were looking to push the scoring rate in the last 5 overs.
It wasn't easy for the batsman to accelerate on this pitch, but the when Kulkarni bowling a no fall in the second ball of the 18th over and Dhoni hitting a 6 off the free hit changed the momentum. Bravo also joined in the act hitting a 4 and a 6 making it a massive 24 runs over. Bravo fell in the 19th over, but Dhoni finished with a flourish hitting 3 sixes of the last three balls ended up with 75 off 46 balls to take CSK to a massive total of 175 in 20 overs.
This is really a match winning score on this pitch, and will be a difficult chase for the Royals. They will need likes of Jos Buttler to fire at the top to have a chance.
