"Devastated by Defeat!!! But WATCH How He Still Smiles... What a Man!" Star Cricketers Praise "Captain Cool"!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsICC World Cup 2019 finals was an intense match with both the teams - the hosts, England and New Zealand - trying to win the trophy for the first time.
As a result, this finals became the only finals in the history to be headed into a Super Over to break the tie in the 100-over game. However, both the teams scored 15 runs and tied up Super Over as well.
England were declared the winners of the match and the tournament following ICC's rule as they have scored more boundaries than the Kiwis.
While people were not happy with the rules, the Kiwis looked terribly sad after losing the match this way. However, Kane Williamson, captain of the New Zealand team, though was visibly sad, put up a smile and gave the address.
His spirit was applauded by many famous cricketers, of which some are given below.

Kane Williamson on England's fortunate four runs: "That was a little bit of shame, wasn't it? Unfortunately, that's the game we play, and that sort of thing happens from time to time."

My heart goes out to Kane Williamson and @BLACKCAPS. But congratulations for playing with dignity and class. You made a lot more friends and did your country proud.
