During the match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, people reportedly hurled slippers towards the ground in Chepauk stadium. Videos of the incident have been doing rounds on social media.
In another video, police can be seen detaining people from the stands of the stadium for showing flags and protesting by raising slogans. Reports say, ten people have been arrested so far for raising slogans about the Cauvery issue in Chepauk stadium.
Notably, several parties protested against the match ahead of its start outside Chepauk stadium demanding the suspension of the game until the Cauvery issue is sorted.
