Rahul Sharma, a cricketer from Uttar Pradesh has accused Indian Premier League chairman Rajiv Shukla's aide Mohammed Akram Saifi of asking him to send prostitutes to a five-star hotel in order to secure a place in the state team, according to a report carried by News1.
Sharma has further alleged Akram of providing fake age certificates to cricketers, who would then go on to play in restricted age-wise group tournaments.
While Akram has denied the allegation, the Anti-Corruption Unit of the BCCI is said to commence an enquiry into the matter soon.
