Sachin Tendulkar's childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar passes away
Home > Sports newsAce cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai. The Dronacharya awardee was aged 87 when he died.
Achrekar's family member confirmed that he died due to old-age related ailments. Ahcrekar is known for being the childhood coach of Tendulkar. Sachin has always acknowledged Achrekar as his mentor. Not only was he awarded the Dronacharya award but was also a Padma Shri awardee.
Achrekar has also coached other players including Vinod Kambli, Pravin Amre, Sameer Dighe and Balwinder Singh Sandhu. He ran a coaching centre in Mumbai which is currently being taken care of by his daughter and son-in-law.
