'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle Shares A 'Heartfelt Request' For Fans As KXIP Out of IPL 2020; Twitter Reacts!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsEver since 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle joined his team on the field for the IPL 2020, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) gained back their hopes in the contention of playoffs.
The 41-year-old, Gayle featured in seven matches of IPL 2020 as the management was unable to squeeze him in the playing eleven earlier as he suffered a stomach bug.
In the seven games that he played, Gayle scored three fifties at 41.14 while maintaining a strike rate of 137.14, which ended up making up to 288 runs.
After Gayle got back in the eleven, KXIP romped to five victories out of seven. Sadly, KXIP became the second team to get knocked out of IPL 2020 after a 9-wicket thrashing against CSK in Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile taking to his Twitter handle, Chris Gayle came up with a heartfelt request. He urged fans to watch the remaining matches of the season despite KXIP getting knocked out of IPL 2020.
"Plz continue to watch @IPL even though my season has come to an end. Thank you Smiling face with smiling eyes #UniverseBoss," Gayle wrote on his official Twitter handle.
So far, Gayle has established himself as a powerful striker of the ball not only for his national team but also in franchise leagues across the world.
Looking into IPL 2020 chart, Mumbai Indians have become the first team to reach the playoffs this year. The likes of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are battling for the other three spots.
So, the teams who are eliminated this year from IPL 2020 are Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).

1000 sixes for Universe Boss in T20s. That's 6000 runs in just maximums! next best at 690 tells how @henrygayle dominated the format single-handedly. Also, loved watching him run double at the age of 41. pic.twitter.com/EUgljoPkmS

People are talking like hard hitting isn't a skill😂🤦♂️. He has many weak points in his game but still he delivers most of the time which is actually amazing. He ruled T20 cricket for 15 years n he'll for 1 more year. At the moment he may not be the best bt he's a true T20 legend
