Cricket fans all across the world were shocked to know that, a man has been arrested for sending an email to the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in which he had threatened to kill the players of the Indian cricket team.

The man hails from Assam, who has been identified as Brij Mohan Das, 19.

As per India Today reports, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested the 19-year-old who threatened to kill players of the India national cricket team.

Brij Mohan Das had sent an email to the BCCI on August 16 in which he had threatened to kill the players of the Indian cricket team.

The ATS also claimed that Brij had sent emails to more cricket boards of other nations with the same threatening content, India Today further reported.

Following which, the matter was reported to the Maharashtra ATS. Who came in action and verified the details with the help of discreet enquiry and cyber experts. Within few hours, it was revealed that the email was sent by Brij Mohan Das.

A case has been registered under Sections 506 (II) and 509 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with Section 7 of Criminal Law Amendment Act 1932.

Later that day, Brij was brought to Mumbai and produced before Mazgaon court. He has been remanded to police custody till August 26.
