Video: Ambati Rayudu Upset, Questions Umpire After KKR Gets Boundary; Twitter Reacts  

As IPL 2020 has not been quite lucky for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), but something that’s gone their way all season is umpiring decisions. Also, In IPL 2020, umpiring calls have become the talking point post matches with many questioning the decisions being made by the on-field officials amid games. 

During the match between, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and CSK; the Yellow Army did not get the rub of the green in this match, where a disputable boundary was awarded against them.

Sadly, the Men in Yellow suffered a royal betrayal from the officials or at least what Ambati Rayudu was thinking of.

The incident happened on the first ball of the 16th over, with KKR 125/3, when Nitish Rana was desperately looking to up the scoring rate, while pacer Deepak Chahar bowled a good length delivery.

Rana, who was batting on 77*, walked down the wicket and smashed the ball towards backward square leg, where Ambati Rayudu was standing. Rayudu tried his best and saved two runs, but the on-field umpires went upstairs to get clarity.

As per Simon Doull on air, Rayudu touched the ropes with his foot while trying to stop the ball forward. Soon after that, the third umpire, KN Anantha Padmanabhan, instructed the on-field umpires to reverse the decision and award KKR a boundary.

Rayudu, who was confident that he didn’t touch the ropes, put out a bewildered face and threw his hands up in frustration. Pointing over controversy and Chennai Super Kings, they have been inseparable this season.
