Ambati Rayudu Opens Up On '3D' Tweet; Says If He Regrets It!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsCricketer Ambati Rayudu who came out of his retirement to play cricket in all forms has gone candid on his ‘3D’ tweet about Vijay Shankar during the World Cup.
According to a report by CricTracker, when asked if he regrets the tweet he made, the 33-year-old right-handed batsman said, “Not at all. If it comes down to such things…I don’t know how to put it, but I don’t think that would’ve played any part. And if it did, I can’t imagine what cricketers must be going through honestly.”
He further said that he was very disappointed after he was not considered for the World Cup despite him working very hard for ‘number 4’ role in specific.
Amid heavy drama, the BCCI preferred Vijay Shankar over Ambati Rayudu for the team’s ‘number 4’ position in the World Cup squad citing that the former is a 3-dimensional player whereas the latter only bats. Furious over the decision, Rayudu tweeted, “Just ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup.” His tweet has gone viral in no time with fans and critics pouring comments on it. While majority stood alongside Rayudu, a considerable amount said Shankar deserves the chance more.
When the World Cup campaign was underway, Rayudu announced that he retires from all forms of cricket. However, later he got back his dialogue.
