Now, Alex Hales has been banned for 21 days for using recreational drugs. Normally every player in the ECB's setup has to go through a hair follicle test at the start and end of each season, which is helped to detect the use of banned substances which has been consumed within the last 3 months.
If a player fails to pass this test for the first time, it is dealt internally and they will receive rehabilitation support. But if it happens the second time, then the player will receive a 21 days ban along with a 5 percent fine from the Annual Salary. If it happens 3 times, then the player can have the domestic and international contract concluded.
Alex Hales has been detected with this problem for the second time and hence the 21 days ban.
