This Rajasthan Royals Star Player Might Join Delhi Capitals for the next IPL edition!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsAfter Mumbai Indians traded leg spinner Mayank Markande with Delhi Capitals last month, sources say that the latter is now in talks with Rajasthan Royals to seal Skipper Ajinkya Rahanae for 2020 edition of the cash-rich Indian Premiere League.
“Yes, DC is trying to get Rahane onboard, but too early to say if the deal will see the light of the day. A lot of things need to be taken care of before the dotted line is signed. RR’s take on the whole issue can also not be discounted since he has been a huge ambassador for them. But yes, talks are on,” a source seeking anonymity was quoted as saying by India Today.
Rahane was part of the Mumbai Indians franchise in 2008 and 2009 editions. He skipped the 2010 edition before joining Rajasthan Royals in 2011.
Delhi Capitals, who were knocked out of the race in semi-finals last year, have been trying to balance between youth and experience. Their recent add on Shikar Dhawan scored a phenomenal 521 in the last edition which led Capitals into play-offs for the first time since 2012. Now, that Mayank Markhande is also onboard the team indeed has got some grip. One cannot forget Markande’s contribution to Mumbai Indians’ first-class show in the 2018 edition. If talks with Rajasthan Royals turns out positive, Capitals will enjoy a combination of both youth and experience in Rahane.
