Home > News Shots > Sports newsA day after the Eliminator match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), the Bangalore team shared a video from inside the dressing room. It was their last video, after a six-wicket loss to Hyderabad in the Eliminator on Friday.
During the match, RCB batsmen struggled against SRH bowling attack, but AB de Villiers stood tall and scored a gritty half-century. He made 56 runs off 43 balls to help his side post 131/7.
Meanwhile, in the emotional video, AB De Villiers issued an apology to the fans of the franchise. He also thanked all the fans for their support throughout the tournament and also said "sorry" for not going all the way.
In a video posted on the official Twitter handle of RCB, he said: "To all our RCB fans, thank you so much for the support. Wish you guys were here throughout the tournament, we could've done with a bit of support from you guys in the stadium but it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully next time. Sorry about not going all the way.”
He further stated that there were a lot of positives from the season that the side could take forward.
“We gave it our best shot and we had a lot of fun. There's a lot of positives which we will take on board moving forward. Thank you very much for supporting us and always being behind us," he added.
Looking at how AB de Villiers finished the tournament; he made 454 runs to his name from 14 innings with five half-centuries and an impressive strike-rate of 158.74.
