Home > News Shots > Lifestyle newsPurattasi is the month of "No Non-Vegetarian" for most of the people in Tamil Culture which started from September 17 this year. A lot of memes were circulating around the web once the month of "Purattasi" started.
Even though October 17 (Thursday) marked the last day of the month, Friday and Saturday were generally considered as days of fasting by the majority of the Tamil people. The TN people who love non-veg and are known as foodies woke up today anticipating meat-filled lunch.
Today (October 20) appeared to be the long-awaited day for those who were the strict followers of the custom. As per Thanthi TV report, people thronged into several meat stalls around Tamil Nadu to get their Non-Veg meal after a long break. The meat stall owners were quite happy to see the large crowd after a month.
Reportedly, since the inception of Purattasi, there was not much crowd which had apparently affected the meat business in the state. In one of the meat stalls in Kudiyatham, Vellore district people gathered in huge numbers to get Chicken and Mutton. Similarly, fish markets also could be seen with a packed crowd and so the other seafood stalls. Well, the people of Tamil Nadu would be like Purattasi is Over, Let the Party Begin.
