"Please don't miss out": R Ashwin strongly recommends a 'Tamil Novel' to read
Home > News Shots > Inspiring newsThe COVID-19 triggered lockdown has made us look back at our favourite pastimes. Finally, you could start reading that book you have always wanted to read or finish painting that incomplete portrait. You have all the time in the world.
With that said, cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has a book suggestion that would interest you.
Recently, Ashwin took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to share his experience with the Tamil classic novel "Ponniyin Selvan."
"When the lockdown began, I started to read Ponniyin Selvan, I am almost done with it now and feel like I will miss these characters once the book comes to end. Those who love reading novels, please don’t miss out on this one, it’s available in english too," Ashwin wrote.
It's not all. Ashwin went on to advise readers on how to read the book. "There are so many characters in this story, so don’t try nd dwell deep into them as you start the book. Take it through and read, the characters will grow on you. The names will feel unique nd different, but they will make you feel like you should name your kids after them," he added.
Shared on June 17, Ashwin's tweets have garnered over 8,000 'likes' and 1,000 'retweets'. Some people even started sharing their 'Ponniyin Selvan experience' in the comments section.
