An eighteen year old boy from Pudukottai, who had to undergo kidney dialysis, tested positive for the coronavirus infection at a private hospital. However, the private hospital denied admitting the paient or treating him.

Michael Williams, was admitted to a private facility months ago as his health was actively deteriorating. He was identified with kidney problems and was hence undergoing hemodialysis in Madurai. At the private nursing home, he underwent dialysis 62 times. His family, who are predominantly into farming, spent arounf Rs.5 Llakhs for his treatment.

Unfortunately, the youngster tested positive for the noevl coronavirus infection a few weeks ago. The private facility immedietly refused his admission and also refused to perform dialysis as he had the virus. They referred him to a government facility.

On June 27, he was transferred to the Government Ranees Isolation Hospital in Pudukkottai. The government hospital dean Dr. A.L. Meenakshi Sundaram made immediate arrangement for the dialysis machinery and began treatment.

The treatment was successful as Michael Williams was cured of the novel coronavirus infection and was also treated for his kidney. Michael praised the hospital facility and thanked them before after his reports arrived and he was permitted to go home.
