Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa resigned after delivering an emotional speech in the State Assembly on Saturday before the floor test. He claimed that the people of the state chose BJP ignoring Congress and JD(S). The Congress and JD(S) have joined hands against the verdict of the people, Yeddyurappa said.

The Karnataka BJP president said that Governor invited him to form the government as BJP emerged as the single largest party in the State Assembly elections. He claimed that Congress did nothing for farmers and people from backward classes.

Thanking the people who voted for BJP, Yeddyurappa said the situation wouldn’t have arisen if the people had given the party 113 Assembly seats. Saying that he toured across the state in the last two years, he added that he knew the sufferings of the people. Yeddyurappa also emotionally pledged that he will serve the farmers and the people of the state till his last breath.
