According to reports, world's cheapest smartphone, 'Freedom 251' maker and founder of Ringing Bells, Mohit Goel was arrested on Sunday by the police. Reportedly, Goel was arrested along with two others for allegedly trying to extort Rs 25 crore to settle a rape case against a businessman.
A woman had filed a case against five businessmen on March 6, claiming that she was invited to a party and was gang-raped by them. However, during the investigation, the police found out that the woman along with Goel had been threatening the accused for money
Goel had already been in jail on allegations of fraud. His company Ringing Bells designed the world's cheapest smartphone, Freedom 251, that costs only Rs 251.
