A woman delivered a twin boy and girl inside a train at Kalyan station near Mumbai on Sunday morning, say reports. Salma Tabassum, the 30-year-old woman, went into labour soon after she boarded the Mumbai LTT-Vishakapatnam Express. Railway officials came to know about it and stopped the train at Kalyan station.
The woman delivered the twins in the presence of the railway medical team. The station manager, a central railway medical team and railway police officials were also present. Doctors examined the babies and declared them healthy.
Sub-Inspector Nitin Gaur reportedly said, “As soon as I got the information, I, along with two lady constables, attended to her and alerted the railway medical team and others. The babies and the mother are fine. We felt proud and fortunate that we helped them.”
