To the Chief Ministers of 14 states and the Lieutenant Governor of a Union Territory, Prime Minister Naredra Modi indicated that the India will not repeat another lockdown. On Wednesday, Modi indicated that India should prepare for Unlock 2.0.

India went through an intense lockdown between April and May. However, that is unlikely to be repeated. “We need to fight against rumours of lockdown since the county is now in the phase of unlocking. We need to think about Phase-II of Unlick and how to minimise harm to out people,” said Modi.

Further he added that the nation must make full use of the medical facilities available and increase the number of testing samples. He said that this measure of identifying all those who are positive for the virus will ensure that they are safely quarantines and isolated with medical support if necessary. “Our priority should be increasing health infrastructure,” he said.

He also notified the other states’ leaders that the supply of ventilators using the PM Cares Fund and the beds and quarantine centres must be made available by the states.

The Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Telengana, Uttar Pradesh Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana, and the Lieutenant-Governor of Jammu and Kashmir took part in the meeting.
