The incident took place near Kargil Chowk, when the young woman's hand accidentally touched an electric pole near her house where she died on the spot.
According to Times of India report, Kajal was walking towards her house in Puna's Prabhu Dharshan society in the afternoon, when she accidentally touched the ill-maintained electric pole on the road side. Shocked passer-by helplessly looked at her, while Kajal slowly fell to the ground as her hand stuck to the pole.
Her father and few locals rushed her to a nearby hospital but the doctors declared her brought dead, ToI further reported.
Kajal was the only working member in her family. She worked in a Zari Unit. Soon after the incident, irate locals demanded strict action against officers of Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited's (DGVCL).
Meanwhile, an official from Puna police said that, "we are in process of registering a complaint against the power company and will investigate the case to a conclusion."
A similar incident happened this year, where a six-year-old boy met with a tragic accident while playing within his Narsingi gated society in Ranga Reddy district of Hyderabad. The boy died on January 11 night after he got electrocuted from a lamp post.
