Watch: Car falls into river; Family miraculously rescued

A family was miraculously pulled out with the use of a rope after the car their car submerged in river water in the Taloja river in Navi Mumbai. A video clip of the incident shows the car fully submerged in water, while the family sits on top of it.

Locals used a rope and pulled the family one by one to safety. The incident took place in the Ghatgaon area of Taloja on Monday afternoon. The Taloja river had a rapid and rising water flow due to the heavy rain in the area.

37-year-old Ashraf Khalil Shaikh, his wife Hamida and two children were travelling in the car, which somehow slipped off the bridge across the river. But the car was stuck for a while due to the presence of stones in the river thus helping the locals to rescue the family before the car could be washed away.
