Previously Dr. Sudhakar was actively protesting against the government for not having provided the hospitals with enough PPE including N95 masks.
Vizag Police commissioner, R.K Meena, alleged that Dr. Sudhakar was in a drunken state and was creating public nuisance on the highway. "Sudhakar was in a drunken state and he behaved rudely with the police. He snatched the mobile phone from a constable and threw it away,” the commissioner told Hindustan Times. “The doctor is apparently suffering from some psychological problems,” she added.
However, the commissioner also told Hindustan times that the constable who had beaten up Sudhakar has now been suspended.
While speaking of the doctor, “We have sent him to King George Hospital for medical examination. After receiving the medical report, we shall book a case against Sudhakar under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code,” the commissioner told Hindustan Times.
