According to Hindustan Times report, the police came into action after they received a call from the neighbours who complained of a strong smell that was emanating from a house.

The woman has been identified as Deepa, while her mother identified as Pushpa Srivastava and sister Vibha.

After the police broke open the door, they found Deepa sleeping while the decomposed bodies of her mother and sister were placed near her. The police were shocked to see the bodies that had decomposed to such an extreme that the bones were visible, Hindustan Times further reported.

Meanwhile, Circle Officer Arvind Chaurasia told media that Deepa’s father, who was a former sub-divisional magistrate identified as Vijendra Srivastava had died in 1990. Since then, Deepa lived in the house with her mother and three sisters. Rupali was also one of her sisters who had passed away a few years ago.

Soon after this tragedy, the mother and two daughters became mentally ill and also stopped interacting with the neighbours or other family members.

Currently, the bodies have been sent for post mortem to ascertain the reason of death. Police assume that Pushpa and Vibha died about two months ago after which Deepa was living with their corpses, police stated.

Meanwhile, Deepa has been sent for a medical checkup and following that she will be shifted to either an asylum or a shelter home.
