Home > India news A 7-year-old boy lost his vision when a primary school teacher punched his face and pricked his eye with a fountain pen in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, reports The New Indian Express.
Ram Singh’s son Luvkush, a Class 1 student of Urmila Devi Higher Secondary School, lost his vision in one eye after his teacher punched him and nailed his eye with a fountain pen since he couldn't read aloud a chapter loud in the class.
Upon the child bleeding profusely, principal and staff members rushed him to a private eye surgeon, who referred him to a hospital. The school management had told the boy's father that his son would become alright and they would bear expenses for the treatment.
However, eye surgeons told Ram that his son's eyesight can't be restored. The principal and teachers also vanished without paying Rs 1 lakh incurred as treatment expenses.
An FIR has been registered against the teacher and the principal, but no arrests have been made considering both have been on the run.
