Unnao Rape Victim Burnt Alive By Rapists Out On Bail, Dies!
Home > News Shots > India newsA 23-year-old rape victim in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh was set on fire by five men including two of her rapists who were out on bail in her rape case on Thursday on her way to Rae Bareli court to attend a hearing of the rape case, reports India Today.
The victim had allegedly complaint to the police that the accused were following her after securing bail but to no avail.
She was in a critical condition and on ventilator. She had told her brother that she didn't want to die and she wanted to see those who did this to her get death sentence, reports India Today.
She suffered 95% burns after being set ablaze and ran for almost 1 km begging for help from the locals. She was treated at two government hospitals before being airlifted to Delhi. She suffered cardiac arrest at 11.10 pm on Friday and was declared dead 30 minutes later at 11.40 pm, reports Hindustan Times.
“Doctors tried to resuscitate her for almost 30 minutes but to no avail. She was declared dead at around 11.40 pm,” said hospital sources.
“My daughter’s condition is extremely critical, only God can save her now,” the father said earlier on Friday.
All the five men named by the victim, Shivam Trivedi, his cousin Shubham, Shivam’s father Hari Shankar Trivedi, uncle Ram Kishore Trivedi and Umesh Bajpai, were arrested by the police and were sent on 14 days judicial custody. Shivam and Shubham had been accused of gangraping her.
