Govt issues Unlock 4.0 Guidelines - List on What is Open and What is Not!
Home > News Shots > India newsAs the country entered Unlock 4, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced a fresh set of guidelines amid the COVID-19 spread.
As a sigh of relief, the resuming of Metro Rail services across the country from September 7 has come as a good news for most people who tend to travel everyday. Meanwhile, the lockdown in containment zones will continue to remain in effect till September 30.
As there are no signs of COVID-19 slowing down in the country, schools and other educational institutions will remain shut.
Below is a list of what will reopen and stay closed in Unlock4:
- As per MHA notification, Metro Rail services will resume in a graded manner across the country from September 7.
- Schools, colleges, swimming pools and indoor theatres will remain closed.
- Cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres (excluding open-air theatres) and similar places will remain shut.
- Social/academic/sports/entertainment/cultural/religious/political functions and other congregations will be permitted with a ceiling of 100 persons from September 21. However, such limited gatherings can be held with the mandatory wearing of face masks, social distancing, provision for thermal scanning and hand wash or sanitizer.
- Schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will continue to remain closed for students and regular class activity till September 30. While, online/distance learning will continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged.
- States/UTs may permit up to 50 percent of teaching and non-teaching staff to be called tothe schools at a time for online teaching/tele-counselling and related work from September 21.
- Students of Class 9 to 12 may be permitted to visit their schools, in areas outside the containment zones only from September 21. This will be subject to written consent of their parents/guardians.
- Lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones till September 30.
- Most importantly, State/UT governments shall not impose any local lockdown outside the containment zones, without prior consultation with the Central Government.
