Girl accused of shoplifting; hangs self in shame

A Class 12 girl in Tripura committed suicide by hanging herself in her room after being harassed by mall executives over allegations of shoplifting. 

Media reports say that the mall officials accused the victim of shoplifting without solid proof such as CCTV footages. 

Some reports even claim that the girl was suspended from school because of the incident. Heartbroken, the girl is said to have taken the extreme step while a case relating to abetment of suicide has been filed.
