Shocking Video: Transgenders brutally beaten up by police in police station!

A group of transgender people were ruthlessly beaten up by policemen in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, after a clash allegedly erupted between them.

A video of the incident showed police beating them up with lathi and them finding cover to escape the blows. According to reports, the action was taken after they began fighting with another group over distribution of "gifts" collected by the community, reports NDTV.

Sources say that initially the clash happened in another place in Meerut. After complaint by locals, police convinced the rival groups to file complaints instead. However, another clash erupted on the police station premises, forcing personnel at the scene to baton-charge them.

SSP said to ANI, 'things have come to the fore, transgenders misbehaved, but force was used to control them. If force used was more than required, probe to be conducted'.
