Amid 21-day lockdown across the nation, Karnataka Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar said all those who are home quarantined in the state have to click their selfies and send them to the government. People will have to upload their photo on a mobile application every one hour which begins from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.

"People who are home quarantined need to send selfie to government every hour," Karnataka Minister

With this novel idea, the state government will ensure those in home quarantine do not venture out and abide to the directions issued by the health department. In a press release, the BJP leader said that the selfie or photo will have GPS coordinates so the location of the sender would be known.

Also, those who are home quarantined and fail to send selfies every one hour, then they would be shifted to government created mass quarantine facilities, the presser added.

Looking at the positive cases in the state, five new confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported, taking the total number of the affected to 88 including three deaths so far.
