Home > News Shots > India newsMinutes after the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India tweeted images of the Indian team enjoying some quality time before their 2019 World Cup, hundreds of fans raised concern over why the team was not spending time in the nets or practicing for the big day.
The pictures were posted with a caption that read as, "Snapshots from #TeamIndia's fun day out in the woods (sic.)"
According to NDTV sports report, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and some other premier members of Team India enjoyed some downtime in the woods before their World Cup 2019 campaign opener against South Africa on June 5. Following which the ever-enthusiastic Indian cricket team fans' concern majorly revolved around their practice session, with some saying the Virat Kohli-led side might lose out on the World Cup 2019 trophy due to these fun times.
In the pictures, Indian team were all dressed in camouflage and were set to enjoy a paintball session with all wearing a happy smile. Meanwhile, one of the fans also reminded Team India, that they have been sent to England to play World Cup 2019 and not to enjoy picnic. Below are few comments from the fans;
While some of the users simply asked, "Practice kaun karega? (who will practice)" others were a bit more colourful with their criticism of how the players were spending their time in England. A user attempted to remind them that they were there to play a World Cup and not to "enjoy picnic". One even said that it was okay if India did not win the World Cup but warned against losing any match to Pakistan.
India will be looking for their third World Cup glory, first under the headship of their exuberant captain Virat Kohli.
