Kerala Gold Smuggling Case: Records show link between Accused and Minister! Govt. in Trouble? Report

Investigation in the Kerala gold smuggling case has revealed that one of Kerala’s minister KT Jaleel was in touch with one of the key accused in the case, Swapna Suresh. She is being interrogated by National Investigating Agency (NIA) in the matter. Her call records reveal that she has contacted KT Jaleel several times in June. 

Swapna Suresh has been accused of attempting to smuggle gold through diplomatic baggage by using the identity of a person in the UAE consulate in Thiruvananthapuram. 

As per media reports, she has spoken to the minister nine times between June 1 to June 26 and most of the calls lasted for 1-2 minutes. 

But the minister has retaliated to the claims saying that they were strictly professionals. He stated that the calls were made after Swapna was assigned to coordinate the distribution of food kits by the consulate general. KT Jaleel has also released screenshots of his conversation with the consulate general on the matter.
