Student arrested while trying to supply drug to boyfriend in prison

A college student was arrested in Kolkata when she tried to hand over heroin, a banned drug, to her boyfriend, who has been lodged in a correctional home in the northern part of the city. She visited her boyfriend at the correctional home on Tuesday and handed over a case of talcum powder to him.

The guards grew suspicious and during check, it was revealed that the case was filled with 200 grams of heroin. The second-year student was arrested and booked under various charges. A court in Barasat granted her bail.

Earlier on Monday night, a team of Narcotics Control Bureau found about 250 kilograms of ganja from the car of Assistant Public Relations Officer Arun in Dindigul. Arun, an officer from Tamil Nadu information and public relations department, along with two others, was arrested in connection with the case.
