Stray Dog Dies After Being Tied To Scooter & Dragged For 3 Km By Two Men

Instances of animal cruelty are on a steep rise across different regions in India. Similarly, in a shocking incident, a stray dog was brutally killed by two people after they tied it to their scooter and dragged it over a distance of three kilometres. The incident took place in Shaheed Nagar area of Ghaziabad.

According to a report in Times of India, the 2 men were stopped by passerby and the dog was immediately rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre. Unfortunately, the canine succumbed to its injuries.

“Had they not been caught by the public, the dog would have been dragged for several more kilometres. The dog was breathing heavily when people stopped them. Also the dog had given birth to five pups barely 20 days back,” said Saurabh Gupta, a spokesperson for People For Animals.

The rise in cases of animal cruelty is something that authorities need to pay heed to. In light of this people have also been demanding stricter laws to prevent crimes of such nature.
