One of the biggest online Media Service Providers, Netflix has been facing trouble against its Indian domain on the basis of a complaint raised by a member of Shiv Sena's IT cell, Ramesh Solanki. The complaint was registered at Mumbai's LT Marg police station against the content that has been streaming on Netflix India.

'Will Netflix India be Banned?', New Controversy Opens Up!

The complainant has mentioned that "Almost every series on Netflix India is with the intention to defame the country on a global level'. Further, the complainant remarks the online platform as it suffers from deep-rooted "Hinduphobia" and "portrays the nation in a bad light".

The Hindu Nationalist has claimed that the online contents that are streaming exclusively on Netflix - 'Sacred Games, Laila, Hasan Minhaj and Ghoul,' are against the sentiments of Hindutva and the platform is trying to establish an "incorrect picture of Hindus and India globally".

Ramesh Solanki has shared the copy of the 3-page complaint on his twitter handle. He has concluded the complaint saying that "One Cannot allow the incorrect generalisation"- claiming the mentioned contents streaming on Netflix India to be untruthful and an attempt to defame a religious minority (Hindus in countries other than India).

He has also attached the copy of the complaint along with Video Evidence to Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis. With India being ruled by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that has deep RSS roots inclined to Hindutva ideologies, an allegation against a leading online Media production company can be looked like a major escalation.

Adding an extra impact to the issue, the hashtag #BanNetflixIndia has been trending on social media by RSS patriots. We would have to wait and see if GOI (Government of India) takes an extreme call against Netflix India as the platform is already setting up a massive viewership base.
