Home > News Shots > India newsAmerican Vaccine maker Novavax Inc announced on Wednesday that is has made a supply and license agreement with Serum Institute of India which will be used for the development and commercialization of its coronavirus vaccine candidate.
The deal was signed on July 30. Serum Institue of India will hold exclusive rights for manufacturing the vaccine in india during the term of the deal and they will be obtaining non- exclusive rights during the “Pandemic Period” in all countries other than those that fall under the category of upper- middle or high- income countries as per World Bank’s classification.
On Tuesday, Novavax reported that the vaccine has shown promising results in its first phase of clinical trial. The vaccine reportedly produced high levels of antibodies against COVID19. They also added that this development could play a pivotal role in trial 3 which is likely to commence late September.
