"Provide help to those who avoid beef": Swami Chakrapani on Kerala Floods

Kerala went through one of the worst floods in a century with more than 300 lives lost and over a million people displaced. Around the time the State needs all help possible comes Swami Chakrapani, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Chief's insensitive statement on Wednesday about the situation.

In an interview, the self-styled godman stated that it is those who don't eat beef who should be helped and that it is a sin to help beef-eaters. He said, "I am also appealing for help in Kerala. But help should be given to those who respect nature and creatures. When roti was available to people in Kerala, they were slaughtering the cow to eat her meat. So, what I mean is that Hindus should provide help to those who avoid cow meat."

The words come in the backdrop of Kerala struggling to get back on its feet. Chakrapani brazenly adds in his statement that victims can receive help if they say in an affidavit that they will never eat beef again.
