According to reports, security has been beefed up for Prime Minister Narendra Modi due to an 'all-time high' threat assessment. Reportedly, the new guidelines are so strict that not even ministers can get close to the PM. Ministers have to get clearance from the Special Protection Group (SPG) to approach the PM.

The move comes after a letter mentioning a plan to assassinate the PM was received on June 7. Ministers and senior bureaucrats will be subjected to frisking to come near the PM. The SPG has also asked PM Modi to cut down on road shows.
