A private school in Pune has issued leaving certificates (LC) to about 150 students who failed to pay their fees, say reports. Parents alleged that Dnyanganga School at Hingne, run by Zeal Education Society's, overcharged them. According to a parent, they paid Rs 30,000 fee and Rs 10,000 as a deposit. When the parents allegedly the school to adjust the deposit in the fee, the school refused to talk to them, the parent alleged.


The school moved a civil application in the Bombay High Court against the parents of students who did not pay the fees. The court held that the school management had the right to cancel the admission of students in case of non-payment of fees.


It is also alleged that the school charged Rs 35,000 as fees, including Rs 10,000 as a deposit, while the tuition fees are Rs 25,000. Some of the parents paid Rs 30,000, which is Rs 5,000 more than the tuition fee. However, the school allegedly issued LCs to those students as well with a false remark of ‘fees not paid’.
