Popular Serial Actor Found Dead in His Apartment, Suicide Suspected! Details
Home > News Shots > India newsActor Sameer Sharma who is popularly known through the show ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’ was found dead on Wednesday night at his Mumbai Residence. He was found hanging at his home at Ahinsa Marg in Malad West. He allegedly died by suicide and was found hanging in the ceiling in his kitchen.
According to statement given by the Malad Police department based on preliminary investigation, Sameer Sharma rented the flat in Febraury 2020. He was found by the watchman in his society who spotted his body during his night rounds and informed other society members. After looking at the condition of his body, police are of the view that he might have been dead for a few days. No suicide note has been recovered from the apartment so far.
Senior Inspector George Fernandez told the media that a case of accidental death has been registered and the recovered body of the deceased actor has been sent for autopsy. Earlier, the actor had to undergo a major health issue but reportedly recovered and resumed his acting.
Sameer Sharma is from Delhi and worked for Radio city in Bangalore for a brief period of time, before he entered into the field of acting. He made his debut in ‘Dil Kya Chahta hai’ where he played the character of Nithin. Before his death, he was starring as Kuhu’s father in the show ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’. He has also acted in other popular TV shows such as ‘Left Right Right’, ‘Four’, ‘Jyoti’, ‘Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon ki’ among others. He played the character of ACP Adil Sheikh in a web series titled A.I.SHA MY Virtual Girlfriend’. He has also been a part of popular Bollywood movies such as ‘Ittefaq’ and ‘Hasee Toh Phasi’.
