Man names his son 'Congress', Internet asks why not Rahul?
Home > News Shots > India newsVinod Jain, who is working as a media officer at the office of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has named his new-born son "Congress" and received a birth certificate from the state government.
"Some members of my family were reluctant to call the baby Congress, but I was determined and so waited until they came around. My son was born in July and it took me so many months to procure his birth certificate. Today his birth certificate issued by the state government his name is recorded as Congress Jain," Vinod told news agency ANI.
Vinod said that his entire family is associated with the Congress party and that he wishes his children to do the same.
"I think that when my kid turns 18 years old he will also initiate a political career. I kept this name with a hope that my child will also play an active role in the Congress party," he said.
Congress Jain was born in July 2019 and is the second child of Vinod. The first child is a girl and is 18 years elder to Congress.
Ever since the news surfaced, Internet has been coming up with witty questions to Vinod. A few include: What if he wants to join the BJP?, Why not name Rahul? and So, you are the father of Congress now?
