PM Narendra Modi’s wife Jashodaben on Wednesday said that she was surprised over former Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel’s statement that the PM was unmarried.
Rebutting Patel’s statement in a leading Gujarati daily, PM’s wife said that PM Modi himself mentioned in his declaration while filing papers for Lok Sabha elections in 2004 that he was married and mentioned her name as wife in it.
Anandiben Patel’s statement tarnished the image of PM Modi, his wife said, adding, “He is very respectable for me, he is Ram for me.”
Patel succeeded as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in May 2014 after Narendra Modi took charge as the Prime Minister. She was appointed as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh this year.
